This year Spring seems to be coming through like a freight train. Bloodroot was peaking at this time last year, and now much of it is already gone. White trillium that normally hits peak around Mother’s Day is already up and will likely peak within a few days.
Looks like we are running about 3 weeks early this year. I may try to get some of the bloodroot that is left, but I still have bloodroot images from last year I haven’t processed, so at least I have a backup. :-)

Beautiful image, Mark. Helped lift my spirits tonight, which I needed. I have tomorrow off and hope to get over to Inniswood Garden and see what new flowers are out.
Thanks Monte – lifting someone’s spirits is probably the best anyone could ever ask for in an image!
Beautiful spring photo. Spring came quickly here as well.
Thanks Tomas – seems to be going quickly all around.
Yikes, I’m in trouble if that is the case here as I took off a few days in the beginning of May for wildflowers. Beautiful shot…I really like the way the white flowers pop out against the background.
You probably won’t be in trouble, but if it is anything like around here, you can expect to see some different flowers blooming than you would expect!
Bloodroot is so simple & beautiful. Kind of like the supermodel of flowers. Here we have purple passionflower, which is more like the Little Richard of flowers. *L*
So beautiful…
Thank you Amber.
Our wildflower season is a bit wonky here in moutains on the west coast, as well.
