Whisper in the Woods was Michigan's premier nature journal - sadly no longer being published. It was filled with creative artwork, stories, informative articles, and of course photography, all dedicated to celebrating the love of nature in Michigan. A truly unique publication that you will find like no other.
Westwind Balloon Company Ever consider photographing fall color from a hot air balloon? It's amazing. Scott Lorenz can take you there, its a great experience.
Michigan Birding Sites This list of maps and directions is compliments of the Michigan Birders list at the University of Michigan. If you are looking for places to see and photograph birds, this is an excellent resource. Most of it is focused on the Ann Arbor area, but there are other directions from around the state (and in Ohio) as well.
Pure Michigan

Lenswork A journal of exquisite b&w photography and well-written essays on the art. I look forward to each and every issue. Brooks Jensen always has something inspiring to say or write. The publication quality of this "magazine" makes it hard to call it that - each and every one is a work of art.
Nature's Best Considered one of the premiere nature photography magazines, printed on heavy glossy stock with excellent selections of photographs. Not much gear information, more focused on the photographs, locations and experiences.
National Geographic Of course! A link to their special photography page...

Rod Planck We took our first week-long nature photography workshop with Rod and Marlene Planck to photograph spring wildflowers in Michigan. I envy Rod's artistic insight into composition, and his way of teaching some of the basic principles of nature photography. Most of all, his and Marlene's sensitivity about the welfare of their subjects is paramount, and an example for all nature photographers to follow.
Artistic photography by Manuel Presti Manuel has a very artistic eye for a refreshing look at many different subjects. I can usually relate to his experimentation with different photography techniques and picking out details as I tend to like photographing many of the same things in the same ways.
