Anyone that has been to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan knows the feeling the moment they get across the Mackinac Bridge. That feeling that you are in a different place now. It is an escape from the hustle and bustle of the larger cities and multi-lane highways in the lower peninsula. A place where the southern shores of Lake Superior hold some magical views largely unknown to many native Michiganders.
This puzzle invites you to piece together one of the many scenic spots of this shoreline at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and the Lover’s Leap archway. Piece by piece, you place together the millions of years of rock layers that formed this magical place.

Some clinical trials seem to indicate this.
There are actually some medical studies about jigsaw puzzles helping adults in their visual-spatial reasoning skills, and theories for reducing risks for dementia, Alzheimer’s and memory loss. These theories warranted enough study for clinical trials and research such as:

Are these puzzles challenging?
Absolutely! At 1000 pieces, they offer hours (days) of entertainment and relaxation – while giving your brain some exercise. These are specifically designed for adult puzzlers. As one puzzler remarked to me : “Mark Graf, I believe we have you to thank for this torture device.” I’ll take that as a GOOD kind of torture.
How is the puzzle quality?
These particular puzzles actually start out as a photographic print. The manufacturing process then creates a sandwich of the print and the puzzle cardboard backing. The result rivals photographic prints you would obtain from quality labs.
How can I frame these puzzles?
Understandably a lot of people want to frame their puzzles after finishing their accomplishment. First you will want to get some puzzle glue like Mod Podge. I prefer the Satin finish as it is very close to the original photo print finish and doesn’t have distracting glare.
Some inexpensive puzzle frames with a lot of great reviews are available at Amazon. You need a frame that will fit a puzzle finish size of 20×28 inches.
What jigsaw puzzles are the best?
Well, since you are asking… I’ll give you a hint — check out the awesome ones above. 
Do you have any tips for building these?
Yes, of course.
- These are challenging. If you find yourself lost, take a break and come back to it. I found I was able to spot matches right away after a little break and a snack. (Did someone mention pizza?)
- Grouping like colors and patterns helps, and building little small sections to the side – especially for the beach rocks puzzle.
- Enlist a friend! Seriously, jigsaw puzzles are great team and family activities.
- Build the puzzle on a large piece of cardboard helps portability vs. on the dining room table.
- Using separation trays (I used a cookie sheet) for loose pieces can help you organize pieces, colors, and sections.
Do you ship internationally?
Due to the cost of shipping these small boxes overseas, I do not personally. However, I have made more puzzles available at my other online puzzle store that ships worldwide.
