Fusion Series
Double-exposure photographs with inseparable relationships“To the young mind, every thing is individual, stands by itself. By and by, it finds how to join two things, and see in them one nature; then three, then three thousand; and so, tyrannized over by its own unifying instinct, it goes on tying things together, diminishing anomalies, discovering roots running under ground, whereby contrary and remote things cohere, and flower out from one stem.“ ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Fine Art Nature, Landscape, Macro Photography Prints / Wall Art & Licensing
Fusion is a series of images exploring connections within the natural world. In these images, there is a foreground and background subject – fused together, inseparable by using double-exposures. The result is a single photograph of two exposures, unable to be taken apart, their molecules intermingled. Multiple exposures have been used in the film world for creative expression on a single frame. This technique is similar. The inseparable aspect is symbolic, it is in the DNA of the photograph. We cannot tug one string in the universe and not have it reverberate to others. Everything is connected.
