I just wanted to post a thanks to some fellow photographers for their support of this blog and providing some traffic this way. This is not to ignore the many others that do not appear specifically here, thank you too. You are the “Others” and the “directs” and have a significant portion of the pie! I am sure these pie charts will change with your continued support as well. But I thought some of those that appear in my recent Google Analytics reports in driving some significant traffic this way deserve a mention. So a special thank you to..

Michael Brown – Macro Art in Nature – thanks for the continued inspiration, new techniques and past mentions

Howard Grill Motivation – for our common philosophies towards photography and pointing a few folks my way – your blog title says enough!

Cindy Mead – Woodsong – for your continued support, education on birds, helping spread the word about some of my enviro-rants

Mike Moats – Tiny Landscapes for the shared detective work on bacterial slimes, shared passion for leaves, and links back over here – your blog is already growing pretty quick! No surprise there.

But mostly to Lisa for putting up with this passion of mine, the time it tends to consume at times, and sharing in the love of nature.

So I suppose the gauntlet is laid down now for some of you new folks and returning visitors to get your name on those pie charts! 😉

Twenty-Twenty Five

Yearly favorites were harder to choose this past year simply because there weren't many exposures overall. I imagine that's an inherent problem with these yearly favorites posts. It emphasizes product over process in a culture that demands constant output. It can...

Continuing with a tradition that began in 2007, I am once again finalizing some of my favorite images from the past year. I guess you could call this Volume 18. Wow, eighteen years of this stuff.1 Nonetheless, It is a process that forces me to consider which...

Twenty Twenty-three

This past year saw a continuation of a trend that has persisted since the Covid shutdowns - staying very close to home, if not in my backyard for most of my photography. To title this year's Yearly Favorites a series of "Visions of a Hermit" would not be too far off....

Hey Mark, being new to the blog world its been a lot of fun so far, and you have one of the most well written and diverse nature photography site out here. I’m more then happy to link to yours and I thank you for the link back which has helped my new blog to grow.

Diane, … just got your e-mail and will be getting back with you here shortly! 🙂

And Mark, … I found out that G.A. can be used with WordPress if you host WP on your own server. With the free WP, which is what I have and hosted on their server, … it will not accept javascript.

Oh well, … it did look cool!

OK, Mark…. I confess, I’m one of the guilty ones. I don’t take the time often enough to let you know that I visit on a regular basis! I thoroughly enjoy your site and find it informative, insightful and inspirational with all your beautiful photography. (BTW… thanks for your recent visit & comment to my site.)

And Michael Brown…. just in case you’re reading this, I APPRECIATE YOU as well. Will personally write you and let you know this.

Will check it out here soon!!

Did you add the code given to you in one of the WP widgets or something?
I am at a loss on this one!

**Meant to say “widgets”, not “tags”! : )

Glad to be of some help with a bit of traffic your way! 🙂

The Google Analytics thing looked pretty cool, so I checked in to it and thought I would give it a try.

Question is Mark, after signing up for it … where did you add the code that they give you?
I thought that one could not use anything with javascript on a WordPress blog/journal.

Did you add the code given to you in one of the WP tags or something?
I am at a loss on this one!

Mark, a word of thanks to you as well. I have also really enjoyed and gotten much inspiration from your blog. That, of course, is why I have pointed frequently towards your work. If I find it special I suspect others will also!

well what can I say except I’ve learned so much from you.. both as a photographer and a conservationist who truly does care about this wonderful planet we share. So rant on my friend – I’m more than happy to send folks this way.. your photography should hang on MANY walls as it does my own. You have a gift and it needs to be shared, plain and simple.
And I absolutely LOVE your new blog layout!! so refreshing and I feel as if I have walked into the deep woods.. wonderful!! Full hard drive my foot, your creativity never ceases to amaze me. Hopefully in time I’ll ‘see you in the non-virtual woods’.. (ever since I read that moniker of yours at NPN long ago, I knew a kindred spirit.. for you know where beauty lives.) Man this is the nicest layout I have ever seen on a blog and I’m not surprised at all.. now I’ll visit just to feel that woodsy atmosphere.. Mike is catching up with me, so I’d better visit more often.. ha!
Now I’m inspired to do a google analytics myself.. 😉
