OK, just a small rant on my part. I read a lot of reviews, and forums, and receive a few newsletters from a variety of sources on photography and equipment. Sometimes the rhetoric and hyperbole are so thick you would think they are running for office somewhere. To top it off, it creates this group of ‘followers’ that treat some of these ‘know-it-alls’ like gods. They shall declare that such and such a piece of equipment is not worthy, perhaps even vehemently. Their way is the only way. Or perhaps they are just trying to justify their own decisions by putting down others.

Don’t let someone, pro or not, famous or not, direct your entire thought pattern on what is right and what is worthy of your hard-earned money. Check with a variety of sources. Question why. Make your own decision on what suits your needs best, not what you are told will fit you best.

Plenty of photographers use equipment that ‘sucks,’ is worthless,’ or declared ‘useless’ day in and day out with thousands of beautiful images to show for it.
