reflection of twilight
I seem to have a fascination with water reflections lately, particularly with reflections where some slight ripples or waves are present. I starting shooting these more while I was in Dominica, and now just look for interesting sections whenever there is the opportunity. It’s almost like I am holding up a canvas and allowing the water to paint itself on it, using a palette of the reflection it holds. The water movement created a surreal effect. This one was shot during civil twilight, with some good cloud cover in the sky that was reflecting back down in the water. Sometimes it is hard to make an interesting grand landscape, but I find these ‘micro-landscapes’ pretty darn cool. I shot this horizontal and vertical, and I am not sure which I like better. The horizontal version is in my gallery. Both seem to have their own appeal.
