I have been away from the blog for a week with either a bad stomach flu or I ended up with food poisoning last weekend. Feeling better now, but boy did it kick my butt.
So in some of my downtime I have been rumaging through all of my uncataloged images and trying to get them organized in Lightroom. I came across a few of these that I did awhile ago. Not sure why I am only now getting around to posting them because I like this kind of stuff a lot.
I suppose nature is the actual painter here, I am simply the docent.

Catherine, this is pretty much a straight photograph of this natural occurance. The hard part is finding good patches of it.
Very cool. How was this done?
I have missed several opportunities to photograph this oil because I misinterpreted it’s source. Thanks for setting me straight.
Striking image Mark
Really great !!! Lovely colors 🙂

Hey Mark,
I shot some oil that looks just like this at the front pond by the parking lot at HP. It was in a small pocket of water that branches off from the large pond. It was only there for a week or so and I’ve never seen it there before or since. I was in the Ann Arbor Art Fair and a botany student saw some of my images I have of this oil and told me she did a research paper on this oil and gave me some info about it.
Hey – I am going to have to look harder at Holland in the spring! This was actually at Kensington near the nature center. (hint, hint) 🙂
Hey Mark, I shot this same oil over at Holland Ponds. Very cool comp.
You’re so right! All we do, as photographers, is show the beauty within Nature. I’d like to see some more…
