FL8513.jpgDespite a clear morning and fairly calm weather, I didn’t go out shooting today. A carryover headache from the prior night just killed my motivation. Instead I slept in and decided to catch up on some website tweaks and image editing I have had on my to-do list for awhile now. I am still very behind in keywording and getting more organized in Lightroom It was one of those days to open up the electronic closet and see if any older images might be worthy of some work as well.

So here is an older shot taken in Joshua Tree National Park – part of the spring bloom there, even in the middle of the desert. This dune primrose, paired with some old, knarly dried wood really communicates a lot about the environment there.

I have placed a new menu/information system in various areas of the site – wander around and let me know what you think.

Backyard Ferns and Jewelweed

Ideas for photos don't always align with my abilities to execute them. I feel like I should have that made into a t-shirt, given how many times I've thought it to myself. I may have an idea that I have a general concept of how I will develop it, but as they say, the...

Pixels to Paper

Pixels to Paper

It's been one year since I returned to printing photographs at home with the replacement of my old, defunct Epson 4800 with a Canon Image ProGRAF 300 (great name 😉 ). The Epson was turned over to an electronics recycler and the Canon is slurping up delicious ink....

Deletion of Print Files

I've kept the files I've used to make prints over the years for the longest time. The other day I deleted them - all of them. I was doing some digital housekeeping and found these archived print files were taking up some significant drive space. I initially kept them...

Hey Mark organizing is something I need to take more time to do, but I tend to play more then I should. Great image.

Mark, add me to the list of those who are behind on keywording! I was caught up a month ago … but, that was a month ago and several hundreds of shots later. Sigh!

Anyway, it is nice to take a trip through the archives and find those hidden treasures, like this one!

I’m way behind Daniel and Mark in keywording. I have a lot of work in front of me!

The primrose image is lovely – I hope to get to Joshua Tree or Anza Borrego someday!

I like to think I have quite a bit organized, until I think about how much I still have left to do! 🙂

Ah, getting more organized. Yeah, that’s on my to do list as well. I had a pretty good system going, but when I transfer the library over to Lightroom, I want to really go through things with a fine tooth comb: ditch the losers, and find the hidden treasures. Guess I’ll wait for a long rainy week for that job!

Lovely shot. Great contrast. Glad you didn’t let that one sit in the closet.
